People in the beauty industry get tons of goods to test out, so when someone spends their own money on something that they’ve run out of, you know it’s good. In this series, we give beauty buffs $100, and ask them how they’d spend it on the best-of-the-best cosmetics from around the internet.
Three years ago, three talented sisters set out to create Striiike, a destination where Los Angeles women could get all their essential beautifying services—hair, makeup, and brows—taken care of under one roof. And just like that, Jenn Streicher, the makeup mind of the trio, has quickly become one of Hollywood’s go-tos for creating effortlessly gorgeous looks.
“I love bringing out the natural beauty in people,” Streicher tells me. “And I don’t think it takes a lot to do that.” Meaning that you could probably guess her clientele by virtue of their on-point, lit-from-within looks on the red carpet (the likes of Mandy Moore, Emily Blunt, and Lily James, to name a few).
When she’s not on-call for red carpet glam, traveling for editorial shoots, or managing Striiike, you can find her spending time with her adorable four-year-old son, Arrow James. In other words, life is busy for Streicher, so while she spends her days playing with makeup, in reality, she’s got only five minutes max to nail her own “cool girl” face. Here’s how she does it for under $100.

“People are very particular about mascara and have certain things they look for,” explains Streicher. “For me, I only want to have to apply one coat, I don’t want it to flake or smudge, and when I want it to come off, I want it to come off easily. This one hits all three notes.”
Jao Brand Goe Oil, $49
“I looove oils but they are normally really hard to travel with,” says Streicher. “Not this one! In the tube, it’s a semi-solid and when you warm it up in your hands it becomes liquid oil. Plus, it’s super moisturizing and one tube lasts forever. After the shower, I use a little dot for my entire body. I also use it on my son because it’s all-natural!”
“I’m obsessed,” admits Jenn. “Matin, the makeup artist, sent me a ton of them and now I have one everywhere—my car, my kit, my purse. I use all seven shades, but my favorite is Pink Nude. I always like to have something on my lips and this gives that perfect, tiny bit of color. They’re also so affordable!”
“I’ve been using this for years, and I probably use it more often than I should,” she jokes. “My skin is tough and I like to use products that I can really feel working. I can definitely feel this one. In the shower, about four(ish) times a week, I apply it like a mask and leave it on while I wash my hair and shave. Before rinsing, I massage it into my skin—the combination of the chemical and physical exfoliation is out of this world.”
“It’s an all-around great product that makes people feel good because it smells so delicious” says Streicher. “I usually spray it before putting on moisturizer to wake up the skin. I also use it to wet my BeautyBlender and to refresh foundation. I have one in my purse, my kit, and we carry it at Striiike. It’s just so good.”
