Nike’s Jordan Brand Is Finally Doing Women’s Sneakers—and They’re *Super* Colorful

Considering the way women, especially with the rise of athleisure, obsess over sneakers—it's somewhat baffling that the female sneakerhead has been underserved, though that seems to be changing. First Zappos launched an editorial platform that caters to the female sports shoe obsessive, and now Nike's Jordan Brand is finally expanding into the women's market.

Jordan's spring line includes the rollout of three different exclusive silhouettes for its newly launched women's collection, according to Fashionista. The first product in the Season of Her collection is the just-released Air Jordan I, which retails at $160 and is available in 10 colors. The shoe captures some of the high-top bulkiness of the iconic Jordans while ensconcing it in new trends—think soft satins and pastel colors, including two different already-sold-out shades of millennial pink.

In designing the women's line, Andrea Perez, vice president and general manager of women's at Nike, said the company was focused on what women want. The mostly female team worked to ensure every shoe was both functional and fashionable, Fashionista reported.

Next from the collection is a Valentine's Day–themed all-red and suede pair of Air Jordan VIII's for $190, followed shortly by a collaborative shoe with Off-White, the designer who brought back the bike short.
