June is all about celebrations: The sun’s out, you probably have a vacay coming up, and if you’re lucky, you’re taking summer Fridays every week as well (in which case: well done). And then, there’s perhaps the most spirited celebration of all: Pride Month.

Throughout June, cities across the US commemorate New York City’s Stonewall Riots of 1969, which launched the modern LGBTQ rights movement. (And the two-year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling on gay marriage is also this month.) Events range from New York City’s famous Gay Pride Parade and five-mile race in Central Park (registration is full, but some of the best activity is on the sidelines, so get decked out and go cheer for the runners this Saturday) to a plethora of marches, festivals, and, of course, pride-themed fitness classes.
