7 stylish rash guards you can wear from surf to street

Red CarterJust like Spandex leggings are acceptable both at the gym and nearly everywhere else, rash guards now have a place in and out of the water—and designers are taking serious note.

This season, haute activewear brands like Michi, Cynthia Rowley, and hot-yoga fave Onzie, are stocking rash guards that are performance-minded enough for water sports like surfing and standup paddleboarding (SUP) but stylish enough for a poolside BBQ or outdoor dinner party.

How do you wear one sans waves, you ask? Try a full rash guard as a bodysuit under short shorts, a cropped version with high-waisted cut-offs, or go a little boho by pairing one with boyfriend jeans and Birkenstocks. (We of course still recommend getting active in the ocean whenever you can, too.)
