Some might speculate that the activewear bubble is about to burst, but anyone who’s followed along knows there’s still a whole lot of room for growth and innovation in the sweaty sector.

With it-girls like Gigi Hadid stepping out in tracksuits and sneakers and celebrity collaborations popping up left and right, our collective obsession with athleisure is showing no signs of fizzling. (Not convinced? Consider the fact that runway designers, mass-market brands,  and even lingerie lines are all taking serious inspiration from the gym right now.)

Out of all the micro-trends that emerged this year, there were a few that took hold in a major way. From the fashion crowd-approved gym bag to leggings made for the office (seriously, your boss won’t side-eye you), just about every cool girl had these items in her closet. The good news? It’s not too late to add them to your holiday wish list.

Scroll down to see the 10 buzziest activewear trends of 2016.

1. Fenty x Puma Creepers

This year, Rihanna proved—time and time again—that she has the magic touch. The creepers she designed for Puma topped our list of the most coveted, wait-listed activewear, and even after releasing the style in several colors and designs, they continued to sell out within minutes.

2. Budget-friendly activewear

It makes sense that with so many must-have activewear trends out there, people were searching for affordable ways to stock up. Luckily, there were plenty of  bang-for-your-buck brands that emerged this year—it even became possible to get a supportive sports bra for under $30.

3. Ready-to-wear with an athletic twist

While leggings and sports bras were booming, fashion brands were taking note. Sporty looks could be found up and down the runways and athleisure inspiration bled over into the top drawer—allowing us to say good riddance to uncomfortable underwire.

4. Super-stylish sneakers

Stan Smiths were a top trend in 2015 and their influence grew even more this year. Not only did Adidas reissue even more of its OG styles, but a ton of new, super-chic brands also hit the scene, making sneakers fair game for pretty much every event. (Even holiday parties and work meetings.)

5. Opaque leggings

No one wants to expose their assets mid-down dog, but fitness instructors claim it’s happening all the time. So this year, brands took it upon themselves to design a new crop of 100 percent opaque leggings guaranteed to pass any squat test.

6. Workleisure

Toward the tail end of 2016, a new category of fitness fashion emerged: workleisure. Brands like Lululemon Lab, Carbon38, and Aday lead the trend with their blazers, dresses, trousers, and structured tops in stretchy, technical fabrics—all of which combine the professional aesthetic of workwear with the comfort of athleisure. Expect this trend to blow up in 2017.

7. All-occasion leggings

If you ever secretly wished you could live in leggings, this year you came one step closer to your dream. There are now plenty of dressed-up options that will take you from the office to your Christmas dinner table—and, of course, straight to the fitness studio.

8. MZ Wallace totes

These uber-chic quilted tote bags were seen on the arm of every stylish, sweat-loving New Yorker in 2016. If the brand’s new MZ Fitness label is any indication, it’ll uphold its status all through the new year.

9. Understated printed leggings

Although wild patterned leggings have been in style for ages, this fall ushered in a new breed of subdued colors and prints that look hot whether you’re sprinting up a hill or throwing on a leather jacket for brunch.

10. Throwback styles

First, there were Adidas Gazelles. Then, oversized sweatshirts took over the scene. And most recently, velvet started making its way into the athleisure section. All these trends meant one thing: the ’90s are back, baby.
