Despite having a ubiquitous makeup line that’s sold in Wal-Mart and Ulta, a quick scroll through Drew Barrymore’s Instagram page will show you that she likes to live makeup-free and keep it real.

“I love wearing makeup, but I also love not wearing makeup,” Barrymore tells People. And that isn’t just because it’s much easier to go through her skin-care regimen—sans foundation or mascara—and call it a day. She expressly enjoys showing off her makeup-free self, imperfections and all, to her fans.

“Makeup-free selfies are empowering because that’s what you really look like,” says Barrymore. “And I have no interest in sort of pretending I look something else than what I am.”

Much like Tyra Banks, Alicia Keys, and an increasing number of other celebs, Barrymore’s all aboard the train of bare-faced, authentic living. Kudos to all of them for being power players in the movement against Photoshop and impossible standards.
