ChaiseFitness launches rooftop summer classes at The James Hotel

outdoor workoutsThis summer, your ChaiseFitness workout could come with a much better view.

The boutique fitness studio that made the Pilates chair sexy again is hosting outdoor classes at The James Hotel rooftop in Soho, which has ridiculous  panoramic views of downtown Manhattan (and is already home to weekly yoga sessions with Serene).

Classes ($25) start June 16 and will run every other Tuesday from 8:00–8:45 a.m. through August 25. And while ChaiseFitness won’t be schlepping its special Pilates chairs to the roof, co-founder Rachel Piskin has adapted the workout so that you can tone and strengthen with just a mat and resistance bands.

It’s part of a bigger partnership, too—The James Hotel’s New York City and Chicago properties now offer complimentary ChaiseFitness ReinventYou workout videos and bands, which the outdoor class is modeled after.

Of course, planking and piking in your hotel room can’t compare to doing it poolside. Just don’t forget to BYO water bottle and sunscreen. —Jamie McKillop
