How you can work out on the flight deck of the USS Intrepid this summer

Jordan MetzlLots of trainers call their classes “military-inspired boot camps,” but this summer, uber-physician Dr. Jordan Metzl is giving the term new meaning.

The popular New York City sports medicine doc, author, and fitness instructor will host a massive version of his signature IronStrength workout aboard the USS Intrepid at Pier 86 on August 10.

“Our IronStrength workouts have happened in some very cool venues, from city parks to rooftops even in Times Square—and they’ve also grown to include athletes of all ages and fitness levels. It’s really been fun to watch this program evolve,” Metzl says. And produce tons of sweat. “Through all the growth, I’ve always hoped to run a huge class on the mack daddy of all venues, the flight deck of the USS Intrepid.”

Sponsored by SafeKids Worldwide, the on-deck workout is open to both adults and kids and is free for the first 1,000 people to RSVP.
