Having a trainer on hand 24/7 is now possible (well, in this case, on wrist!), thanks to a new collaboration between Fitbit and Adidas: Instead of hitting the gym or heading to a class for your next workout, you can just look to a new wearable.
No matter your fitness level, Fitbit Iconic: Adidas Edition aims to take your sweat seshes to the next level and improve your overall performance. The device features Adidas-created workouts that give you a step-by-step experience, no phone needed: Everything shows up right on the screen of the device, making it easy to glance down at your wrist to see the next exercise.
Right now there are six different workouts to choose from on the $330 wearable that’s currently available for pre-order and in stores next month, and they all feature the same setup: A 5-minute warmup, a 10-minute “Power Pace” to help you become more flexible and efficient, a 15-minute “Metabolic” section to improve your speed and boost your metabolism, 5 minutes of “Run Activation” to up your stability, 10 minutes of “Strong Strides” to help your runs get stronger, then a 5-minute, cool-down stretch.

Getting workouts from Adidas while on the run is just one of the many ways digital trainers are taking over this year (one of Well+Good’s 2018 trends). Aside from this new device, there are other ways to help you get your workout fix anytime, anywhere, whether it’s taking online classes from your favorite boutique fitness studios—like cult-faves LEKFit and modelFIT—or working with your favorite trainers via their apps, like the Studio Tone It Up app or Kayla Itsines’ Sweat app.
With all the new tech available, fitness is now at your fingertips more than ever before, making it all too easy to get in a sweat whenever you feel like it—no trip to the gym required.
These fitness and wellness innovations could seriously upgrade your life. Or, find out if digital streaming could burst the boutique fitness bubble.
