Openings alert: Two new spots to get toned in New York City

Flex StudiosIt’s a big week for getting toned in NYC—with two new barre studios opening their doors for pulsing and planking.

Indie Union Square favorite Flex Studios officially debuted its second location in Noho on Monday, June 22, 2015, for its fast-paced, athletic approach to barre alongside muscle-quivering Pilates on its signature FlexFormer machine (think: tricked out Reformer and non-stop sweat), and TRX classes.

And booming national barre franchise Pure Barre continues its never-ending expansion with a new location in Greenpoint opening on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 (from the same owners of the nearby Williamsburg location).

In other words, yes, you have been seeing a lot of barre studios popping up, and yes, you’d better wash your grippy socks ASAP. —Jamie McKillop
