Keep Your Body Guessing With This 15-Minute Pilates Slider Workout

Even a Pilates mat workout targets the tiniest muscles, leaving your body burning from head to toe. So just imagine the level of soreness that comes from doing a Pilates slider workout. In the latest episode of Good Moves, pilates instructor Chloe de Winter goes through a short-but-intense workout that will make you wonder why you never combined the two methods before.

While sliders are used in a variety of different workouts, you don't often see them in Pilates. When you do utilize them, though, you're able to get a reformer-like workout right in your living room—no expensive equipment needed. And while there are many sliders available online, there are alternatives you definitely already have at home. "If you don't have any sliders, you can use a dish cloth on a slippery floor, or you can put on a pair of socks," says de Winter. It's as easy as that.

Once you have your sliders—or a cozy pair of socks—you can follow along with de Winter and work through the exercises, which range from lunges that hit every angle of your booty to slow slider mountain climbers that will make your entire body shake. Just wait until you try the side plank variation that will put your balancing skills to the test. "It's a challenging workout that works through the legs, the core, the shoulders—a bit of everything," she says.

Even though the workout is only 15 minutes long, you won't need more to help strengthen and tone your body. To try the workout out for yourself, press play on the video above.
