“I love to layer in laps with my ballet workouts in the summer months,” she says. It not only gives her some summer-in-the-city relief, but it’s an incredibly low-impact workout that seriously packs a punch—sans sweat!
Her go-to swimming workout generally includes both a breaststroke and a freestyle stroke for about 40 minutes. “I think about stretching as long as I can through the water and keeping my abs pulled in tight,” she says. “It’s such a good complement to ballet because it stretches you long and lean in the same way, but it would be just as effective alongside any other workout as well.”
As far as fashion goes, just because you need a swimsuit that’s sturdy enough to exercise in doesn’t mean you have to give up on style. Bowers loves TYR suits, specifically for the fun colors and full coverage on the chest and back, but they’re hardly your only option.
