While Chad Turner was doing yoga on a vacation in Bali, he had a realization that killed his bliss: All of the yoga mats around him were ugly.

“All I saw was a sea of unoriginal, massed-produced, solid-colored mats. My thinking was, there must be a way of creating a highly functional product that was also aesthetically beautiful,” says Turner, noting the disconnect even more acutely in paradise.

Now, the hunky 30-something lives on Bali where he runs Yoga Design Lab, making awesome printed mats and towels that feel more like a cool work of art. (And are reasonably priced at $68.)

And while pretty, patterned yoga mats are definitely more popular than ever, we think these hot designs will fit right in with your chic yoga leggings. We just wish Bali came rolled up inside. —Molly Gallagher
