Tracy Anderson Is Ready to Whip the Hamptons Into Shape Year-Round

Tracy AndersonCelebrity fitness and wellness lifestyle expert Tracy Anderson is expanding her empire yet again, with a brand-new Hamptons studio opening this weekend, just in time for the summer crowds.

The studio, in East Hampton, will be much bigger than her original East End studio in Water Mill and will be open year-round, with new membership options and masterclasses that will be live-streamed via the online platform Anderson launched last year (so maybe wear your cutest leggings in case you get five minutes of sweaty fame?).

"Evolving to East Hampton as our next location is truly a thrill for me,” Anderson says. "This opportunity allows me to have the special experience of connecting live with our at-home audience and to grow new relationships."

The Hamptons has always been a sweet spot for the trainer known for working with celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow (her business partner), Jennifer Lopez, and Victoria Beckham—and the less-famous-but-still-moneyed set. But Anderson’s Water Mill studio, open only during the summer months, is just one room, with check-in and retail part of the main classroom.

The East Hampton studio, on the other hand, will be 3,000 square feet spread out over two floors, with two classrooms, each heated to 86 degrees with 69 percent humidity and equipped with the popular Tracy Anderson Method band system. A full retail area will stock Anderson's own extensive collection of leggings to yoga mats, as well as brands like Koral, All Things Fabulous, and Ultracor.

Anderson's team of trainers will teach most of the classes, with private sessions available, while a limited number of "master classes" will be taught by Anderson herself (and filmed for the live streaming platform). Her popular Vitality Weeks will also take place at the studio, starting with two weeks in July.

"The East Hampton location will go many steps further into optimizing our clients' health space. It will be the experiential location to find many [of our] new offerings," Anderson promises.

Individual classes will cost $45, or TAM fanatics can opt for memberships on a monthly ($950) or seasonal ($2700) basis. The latter may drain your summer travel fund, but it also may increase your chances of toning your triceps next to Lena Dunham, if that's what you're going for. —Lisa Elaine Held
