Would you go on a retreat with your dermatologist?

Dr. Howard Murad is hosting his first ever wellness retreat. This is one vacation you should come back from looking radiant.

We bet your dermatologist didn’t join you on your last yoga retreat or for your detox week at Live Oak. Though that’s about to change.

Skin doc and wellness pioneer Howard Murad, MD, whose products you’ve likely seen in Sephora, will be hosting his first wellness weekend at the Parker Palm Springs in September. (Pack sunscreen to avoid a lecture on UV damage.)

Dr. Murad, who currently runs an “inclusive health spa” in Los Angeles, is one of just a few cross-over dermatologists in the country who, realizing the effects of stress and nutrition on skin, offers wellness services in his practice along with aesthetic ones.

He’s also a bit of a James Michener of skin care: he’s written several books (including one about the relationship of water to wellness and aging that’s super interesting) and created a line of supplements that help solve common skin-care woes like acne.

On the retreat, you’ll be one of 25 guests experiencing Dr. Murad’s approach to “Looking Better, Living Better, and Feeling Better”—and you’re free to barrage him with questions about your skin and diet over a hosted healthy dinner, a hike, a cooking class, and small group sessions.

“The two-day retreat will feature activities, lectures, and relaxing spa treatments aimed to help you disconnect from the stresses of daily life, focus on your well-being, and learn how to put yourself first,” says Dr. Murad. And unlike a margarita-filled beach junket, this is a vacation you should back come from looking poreless and radiant. —Melisse Gelula
