Deepica Mutyala has dealt with dark circles and discoloration her entire life, and her know-how about treating them is what inspired her to create Live Tinted, a beauty brand dedicated to addressing these concerns. "I’ve been on a mission to create accessible solutions for hyperpigmentation and dark circles," says Mutyala, who has already made great strides in that direction with the invention of Live Tinted's color-correcting sticks and discoloration-fighting serum. Now, she's taking her mission one step further with the launch of Superhue Brightening Eye Cream.

"Superhue Brightening Eye Cream is just what you need to brighten and prep the eyes for the day ahead—it's the perfect tool to feel good in the skin we’re in," says Mutayala. "I wanted to create an eye cream with efficacious ingredients that cater to our community's dark circle concerns."

The Live Tinted Superhue Brightening Eye Cream ($28) is made with a trio of hyperpigmentation-targeting ingredients: niacinamide, caffeine, and vitamin C. In addition to effectively fading the appearance of dark spots and discoloration, these actives also help to boost collagen production for a firmer-looking complexion. Although all three of these ingredients are superstars, Mutayala says her favorite ingredient in the cream is vitamin C, which is present in the form of tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (THD).

"The highly stable, oil-soluble, 'Rolls Royce of Vitamin C'—THD vitamin C—in the formula has to be my favorite," she says. "It does some heavy lifting, both brightening and evening skin while remaining gentle around the sensitive eye area."

After trying the formula out, one of my favorite things about it is the fact that it contains color-correcting pigments and light-reflecting pearls that help to instantly neutralize some of the darkness under the eye and reflect light for a brighter look. Plus, the tube has a cooling applicator to help boost circulation around the eyes and feels so good. It instantly makes me feel more awake—and to boost that icy sensation, Mutyala says you can chuck it in the freezer before use. "I love to take a few minutes and give myself a little massage with the cooling metal applicator. It feels amazing and you can really see a difference," she says.

This eye cream was formulated to fit in seamlessly with the rest of the Live Tinted line. "Not only does it pair perfectly with Superhue Hyperpigmentation Serum Stick ($34) to provide both instant and long-term gratification, but it’s also the perfect prep step for color correction with our Huestick Color Correctors ($24), creating the perfect canvas for color correction and concealer application," she says.

To use the Superhue Brightening Eye Cream, layer it over your serums and moisturizer but under your sunscreen. "We recommend applying your skincare thinnest to thickest, so we start with Superhue Hyperpigmentation Serum Stick, which is proven to smooth and even skin tone and texture, and follow with the Superhue Brightening Eye Cream to provide instant brightness and depuffing under the eyes," says Mutyala.

If you're looking for a gentle yet effective product to help reduce under-eye darkness and puffiness, the Superhue Brightening Eye Cream is here for you.
