SoulCycle East Hampton to launch SoulYoga with Hilaria Thomas Baldwin

Exhale did it, so did SLT, and Physique 57. So it was only a matter of time before SoulCycle supplemented their signature spin class—known for its use of platitudes borrowed from the yoga world—with a yoga class of their own. Even if it just lasts the summer…

And, who better to spearhead the effort than wife to SoulCycle-regular Alec Baldwin?

That’s right, starting this Saturday you can catch the new Mrs. Hilaria Thomas Baldwin, at SoulCycle East Hampton where she will be leading SoulYoga. (Though we expect film crews galore of the newlywed, so maybe go next weekend unless your yoga moves are camera-ready.)

The ab-centric yogi created the 45-minute class exclusively for SoulCycle and designed it to “stretch the muscles that become tight from indoor cycling, strengthening the core and allowing riders to go deeper into their practice.” So expect lots of work on opening up hip flexors, releasing the IT band, and other areas that get tight from indoor cycling.

SoulYoga launches in East Hampton this Saturday, July 7 and will be offered on Saturdays at 9:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. and Sundays at 9:45 a.m. through August. Riders can use their regular Hamptons series to book—cost ($40 a la carte) and sign-up is same for both cycling and yoga.

Classes are held in a basement studio, which, if it suits the new Mrs. Baldwin, should be fine for the rest of us. (Fingers crossed.)

While the newlyweds are clearly spending a lot of the summer out East, the yogi’s city regulars without a beach house can take heart (or child’s pose), she’s slated to return to the schedule at Yoga Vida in mid-August. —Sharon Feiereisen
