With its Carefully Crafted Dressing & Sandwich Spread (that’s a mouthful!), Hellmann’s goes egg-free and non-GMO, in the latest salvo in the so-called Mayo Wars.
Before coming out with its own eggless formulation, Hellmann’s parent company Unilever sued startup Hampton Creek, claiming false advertising because its vegan “Just Mayo” line didn’t contain eggs, which are required in mayonnaise, Fortune reports. There are big changes in the world of restaurant chains as well, with kale becoming a star ingredient at fast-food joints, and Houlihan’s embracing spiralizing.
