“Athleisure” will officially be a word thanks to the Merriam-Webster dictionary

TS_FA15_LIFESTYLE_CAMPAIGN_05It seems that the athleisure category has gotten so big, even the Merriam-Webster dictionary team has taken notice (and, we’d like to think, made a habit out of wearing yoga pants to work).

The New York Times reports that “athleisure” will be included in the next update of the dictionary according to Emily Brewster, an associate editor at Merriam-Webster. She says that the organization will define the term as “casual clothing designed to be worn for both exercising and general use.”
