Following the announcement of the Amazon–Whole Foods merger, it quickly became clear that Prime members were in for some serious perks in addition to the coveted free two-day-shipping deal. So far, Prime members have been offered drool-worthy bonuses like discounted Thanksgiving turkeys and free two-hour grocery delivery. Now Amazon is upping the ante by offering its esteemed clientele lower-priced Whole Foods goods in stores, starting today for those in Florida and this summer for everyone else, according to a press release.

Shoppers with the Prime membership will receive an additional 10 percent off the hundreds of available sale items as well as "deep" discounts on select weekly best-selling items.

The new Prime program is now live in Florida and will expand nationwide by summer. Here's a glimpse of the kind of price cuts we're talking about: Through May 22, shoppers in the Sunshine State can expect deals like buy-one, get-one 12-packs of 365 Everyday Value sparkling water and 50 percent off magic mushroom powder (AKA adaptogens).

The deals will be "prominently" featured in stores, and you can also check them out each week on the Whole Foods app. Prime members will scan the app code at checkout to apply their discount.

Chalk this up to another way Amazon is making its VIPs feel like every day is Prime Day at Whole Foods.
