April 1 is widely known as April Fool's Day, an annual occasion when tricks and pranks are meant to ensue. But, astrologically speaking, this year’s April Fool’s Day may be a time to take things more seriously, especially for four zodiac signs: Aries, Taurus, Scorpio, and Aquarius.

April 1, 2022, coincides with the energy of the new moon in Aries, which invites all folks to be finely attuned to their emotions. According to astrologer Dana DeFranco, co-host of the Allegedly Astrology podcast, the new moon will also join Mercury (the planet of communication) as well as Chiron (often referred to as "the wounded healer") on this day. She adds that this provides folks the potent opportunity to reflect on past wounds and find ways to deal with the pain without assigning blame to others or themselves.

So, yes, the April 1 astrological energy holds serious introspective power potential for folks of all signs; however, DeFranco says Aries, Taurus, Scorpio, and Aquarius, in particular, will want to take this normally silly day more seriously. Read on for her April Fool’s Day horoscope for those signs to learn why.

How this year's April Fool’s Day horoscope tells these 4 signs to take things seriously

Aries

The new moon is in your sign, Aries, and that, alone, makes it beneficial for you to be really real with yourself on April Fool’s Day. DeFranco suggests asking yourself some questions to reflect: “How do you feel about yourself? What do you want to take more seriously? Where are your insecurities holding you back?”

Additionally, with the Chiron-new moon conjunction, you might be feeling more inhibited. To try and get your groove back, take this tip from DeFranco: “Just imagine the best version of yourself," she says. "What does that look like, and how can you act like you're that person [already]?” Of course, the specifics here will vary from Aries to Aries, but as long as you determine what’s most important to you, you can go from there.

Taurus

The north node, which represents your purpose in life, and Uranus, the planet of innovation, have been in your sign since 2018, says DeFranco. That’s important to consider because it could have left you dealing with insecurity, Taurus.

Your April Fool’s Day horoscope, which sees the new moon in your 12th house of sorrows and loss, might inspire you to get serious about your mental health, DeFranco says. Just be mindful of one of your shadow traits: “Taurus is known for not wanting to go for something unless they have assured success,” says DeFranco. Try to remember that there’s also success in just starting.

Scorpio

As the sign of death, rebirth, and transformation, Scorpio might get the sense that they’re “always going through it,” says DeFranco. On April Fool’s Day, though, you might feel more agency in terms of your overall well-being, but especially as it pertains to joy. “This new moon could be the time for them to really [think about what they like to do],” says DeFranco. And with Saturn (the planet of structure) joining Venus (the planet of love and beauty) in Scorpio’s fourth house of home and foundations, DeFranco says that might just mean that you’re considering what (and whom) you should and shouldn’t keep investing your energy into.

Aquarius

With Aquarius recently having Saturn (the planet of structure), Venus (which represents love and beauty), and Mars (associated with physical energy) in their sign, they likely felt encouraged to consider their public image. And their April Fool’s Day horoscope provides a welcome opportunity to implementing some changes. Because Aquarius is the rebel of the zodiac, you might also consider what you might be rebelling against that you can just discard, says DeFranco.
