At-Home Peloton Bikes Are Getting Easier to Finance

There's definitely an allure of having access to a cutting-edge spin bike—and classes—in the comfort of your own home: You don't have to fight over seats for your fave instructor's class, you never have an excuse to skip, and can sweat through your gray leggings without a care in the world.

But if the price tag on a Peloton bike has previously deterred you from making the big purchase, there's some good news: The company reports that starting today, it will offer a financing plan, so rather than buying the Peloton bike for $1,995 (and add on $39 a month for a class subscription), you can now pay $97 a month (with no interest) for 39 months, which includes access to unlimited live and on-demand classes.

"For many families, budgeting for mortgages, family obligations, and other financial commitments can make paying $1,995 up-front for fitness equipment a challenge." —William Lynch, president of Peloton

William Lynch, president of Peloton, said in a press release that a large reason for introducing this plan is to widen access to prospective spinners. "For many families, budgeting for mortgages, family obligations, and other financial commitments can make paying $1,995 up-front for fitness equipment a challenge," he said.

Though the financing option does ultimately cost the same amount as buying the bike outright and paying the monthly subscription fees, let's be honest: Not everyone has a couple grand burning a hole in their leggings, #amiright?

Here's how you can break a Peloton-style sweat in your hotel room. Speaking of, these dreamy hotel airport swimming pools make delays and cancellations almost desirable.
