With Memorial Day weekend in the books, shot girl summer is (unofficially) here. And with COVID-19 rates in this country trending down as vaccination rates ascend, we can quite literally breathe a little easier as we safely enjoy sunshine and good company. As for what’s in the stars this month, though, prepare for a big shift with the upcoming solar eclipse in Gemini on June 10, which is sure to bring out-with-the-old, in-with-the-new energy for everyone. There are also other transits this month that will play a role in determining the best day in June astrologically for each sign.

In general, solar eclipses usher in newness, and we'll see that theme shape the month of June, says astrologer and author of The Complete Book of Dreams, Stephanie Gailing. “Everyone this month will feel a sea change occurring," she says. "Anything that has outrun its expiration date in our lives will start to release, so we can plant that field and allow new things to blossom and flourish.”

Because the solar eclipse is happening in Gemini, those born under that sign in particular will feel the effect of the cosmic event in their sense of identity, says Gailing. Another sign that can expect to be deeply impacted by the eclipse is Sagittarius, the opposite sign to Gemini on the zodiac wheel. “For them, the change will likely resonate in their relationships,” says Gailing, “so they might be drawn toward new relationships with more integrity or depth, and perhaps one that isn’t serving them [ends] to make room for these new ones.”

But again, all the signs can expect to feel some sense of upheaval and renewal surrounding the June 10 eclipse—and while the clarity surrounding your new direction might not come right away, Gailing says to sit tight, and watch as it reveals itself in the weeks that follow. Beyond the eclipse, however, we can also look forward to an array of cosmic movements in June, many of which will affect certain signs more positively than others. With that in mind, keep reading for Gailing's predictions for the best day in June, astrologically, for your sign.

Below, learn the best day in June, astrologically, for your sign, and how to make the most of it.

Aries

Best days: June 10-12

For Aries, this time is light and love-filled. “The realm of their life related to romance will be totally lit up as Aries’s planetary ruler Mars shifts into their fifth house of love and creativity on June 11,” says Gailing. The energy of this shift may be powerful on either side of that date, too, so the feeling could extend a little before and a little after. “It’s a time to invite romance or creativity into your life—to do something from the heart,” says Gailing, “whether that’s going out to dinner for a special date night with a partner or cooking yourself a nice meal at home.”

Taurus

Best days: June 1-3

Taurus feels a positive boost in their friendships and relationships early in the month as its planetary ruler Venus makes a harmonious aspect to Jupiter. “This planet is all about expansion and bounty and growth,” says Gailing, “and then you have Venus, which is all about love and pleasure, positioned right at center stage.” So, Taureans, take this time to band together with a group of friends, either to rally around a cause you deeply believe in or just to experience a greater sense of personal value.

Gemini

Best days: June 9-11

There’s no denying that the solar eclipse in Gemini on June 10 will be the sign’s biggest moment this month. Gailing advises taking the opportunity to do some soul-searching to identify anything outworn or self-limiting. “These things can blur your sense of radiance,” she says. “But when you decide to let them go, you can open up to and invite in the ability to shine that much more brightly.”

Cancer

Best days: June 20-21

The summer solstice on June 21 in heralds Cancer season, along with the longest day of sunlight all year. Fittingly, Cancers have their moment in the sun this time of the month, too. “They’ll feel more connected to their sense of self and to what nourishes and nurtures them,” says Gailing. To lean into that, caring Cancer, turn your attention back to yourself: Take a virtual cooking class, plant your garden, or do another solo activity, and you’ll feel extra-fulfilled.

Leo

Best day: June 27

Venus—the sign of pleasure, love, and romance—moves into Leo, dialing up passionate and fiery Leo’s romantic side to new heights. Any relationship a Leo is in that really lets them shine and embrace the fullest expression of themselves will take precedence, says Gailing. “It would be a great time to turn to your partner and say, ‘Hey, when you say or do this to me, it really lights me up.’” You’re bound to feel a stronger heart-centered connection as a result.

Virgo

Best days: June 21-23

Mercury shifts out of retrograde and goes direct on June 22, and for the few days surrounding that movement, its influence is very strong—particularly on Virgo, which is ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication, intellect, and memory. Virgos can expect to gain some clarity around goals and plans they’ve been mulling over.

“If you’ve been thinking about how you want to move forward in your life or reevaluating things, this would be a great time to take some action, as you’ll be able to see the horizon more clearly again,” says Gailing. “Think about who you really want to see, what topic you want to explore, or what place you want to visit—and then dive in. This is an opportunity to make your world feel bigger.”

Libra

Best day: June 23

Libra’s planetary ruler is Venus, and on June 23, it makes an opposition to Pluto, the planet of transformation and rebirth. With this comes a potentially challenging moment, which also has a powerful potential upshot: While you’ll be inspired to look beneath the surface of your relationships and could feel suspicious of what you might uncover, this will also make way for strong breakthroughs and the ability to love more deeply. “You might be wondering if someone in your circle is keeping something from you,” says Gailing, “You can be proactive and ask some probing questions to uncover what that might be.” Surfacing whatever’s going on at the base of a relationship will help create an even more solid foundation.

Scorpio

Best day: June 11

Mars, one of Scorpio’s planetary rules, enters Scorpio’s tenth house of career around the solar eclipse. “A Scorpio will feel more animated or activated about what they want to pursue at work,” says Gailing, “and the energy surrounding workplace dynamics will be very strong.” It’s a good time to do some soul-searching, and think about what it is that you’re shooting for professionally and how you can champion yourself in the workplace. Be on the lookout for potential new opportunities within that realm, adds Gailing.

Sagittarius

Best days: June 18-22

Sagittarius’s planetary ruler, Jupiter, turns retrograde on June 20 in the fourth house of home, which may make family patterns or dynamics more potent in the days just before, during, and following this shift. It’s an opportunity to learn more about what home really means to you, says Gailing. In essence, her advice is to call family members or gather with them, if you can. If you tap into these relationships around this time, you’re likely to find them more enriching and palpable.

Capricorn

Best day: June 14

One of this year’s defining astrological transits, Saturn square Uranus, happens again on June 14, and this is of particular consequence to Capricorn whose planetary ruler is, of course, none other than stability- and structure-driven Saturn. While the 90-degree aspect of a square can generate confrontation and tension (in this case between rigid Saturn and rebellious, revolutionary Uranus), it also presents an opportunity for a helpful shake-up, says Gailing.

“If you and your significant other always do takeout sushi for date night, for example, you might try Lebanese food or cook a meal yourselves or have a picnic—anything to break out of your mold. When you stretch a bit, you’ll be able to see what new things can open up for you.”

Aquarius

Best day: June 14

Both Saturn and Uranus are the planetary rulers of Aquarius, so the Saturn square Uranus transit unsurprisingly has a profound impact on Aquarius. In this case, however, the shake-up will likely be related to how Aquarians feel rooted or nourished, says Gailing. But the focus is still on avoiding rigidity: “My favorite mantra for this is to stay bouncy,” Gailing says. She suggests

Aquarians switch up whatever they do physically or for exercise—for example, opting for a barre class instead of a usual vinyasa yoga flow. Being highly adaptable during this period of flux will open your eyes to what you may have been missing.

Pisces

Best days: June 23-27

One of Pisces’s planetary rulers, Neptune, turns retrograde on June 25, which means its energy will be particularly potent in the days just before and just after that shift. As Neptune is the planet of inspiration, dreams, and fantasy, this is a time when Pisces will feel particularly in alignment with and connected to its inner voice, says Gailing. “It’s a great moment for spiritual pursuits or dreamwork,” she says, “or anything that allows you to get into a dreamlike space—for example, spending time in a body of water, writing in a journal, reading poetry, or meditating.” And creative Pisces, it’s a time when you can really trust your intuition.
