A few years ago, I spent 18 months full-time traveling across the globe. Throughout my journey, I picked up a new piece of jewelry (or five) at a local market in nearly every city I visited. By the time I returned home, I was the proud new owner of dozens of necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, so it's safe to say I know the importance of a travel jewelry case.

Considering that no one wants to waste a precious second of their vacation time untangling necklaces or searching for an earring back, I used my first-hand knowledge (and a whole lot of reviews) to curate a list of the best travel cases for jewelry. Once you buy it, you'll never leave home without it.

Beis The Hanging Jewelry Case — $48.00

BEIS is the brainchild of actress Shay Mitchell, who travels a lot and felt that the luggage and accessory options on the market weren’t meeting her needs. I’m a big fan of all of the brand’s bags—the weekend tote comes pretty much everywhere with me—because each detail is thoughtfully designed by someone who really knows what a traveler needs when they’re on the road. This jewelry case is no exception: It’s got tabs to hang your necklaces on and multiple different-sized zipper pockets, and hangs over a door for easy access. When it’s not in use, you can roll it up into a compact size that will fit easily in your carry-on.

BAGSMART Travel Jewelry Organizer Roll Foldable Jewelry Case — $22.00

With a perfect five-star review from 5,000 Amazon customers (not an easy feat, mind you), this cutie kit has got everything you need as far as jewelry storage goes. It comes in three different sizes and two colors, all of which fold flat for easy packability.

Teamoy Jewelry Travel Case — $17.00

Though the top of this case has got earring holes, necklace holders, and a ring rack, the secret bottom compartment has got space to store literally whatever you want. It can double as an electronics organizer, a makeup case, a secret snack stash… the world is truly your oyster.

Uzoli Travel Jewelry Case — $14.00

The great thing about this jewelry case (aside from the fact that it’s got plenty of space for all your faves) is that it comes equipped with a mirror, which means you can check out how great your earrings look as you put them on.

Mark and Graham Small Travel Jewelry Case — $69.00

Not only does this case come with a personalization option, but it’s also got four compartments to help keep your necklaces bracelets organized, plus a series of slots for rings and earrings. The only downside here is that there are no individual compartments for necklaces, so if you don’t pack carefully, you may wind up with a tangled mess. That said, it’s made from luxurious-looking leather comes in an entire rainbow’s worth of colors, which gives it a major one-up in terms of style.

Mejuri Weekly Case — $65.00

Considering this case was designed by an actual jewelry brand, you know it’s bound to be good. With designated storage for five pair of earrings and six necklaces and a large zip pocket for any other essentials, you won’t have to worry about anything getting twisted or lost. It folds up into a 9.5″ by 4.75″ rectangle that looks like a wallet, making it easy to take with you wherever you go.

Plush Velvet Travel Jewelry Box — $13.00

This velvet case will recreate the feeling you get every time you open a jewelry box. It’s small, but has plenty of space to hold your most important items, making it perfect to pop into your purse or weekend bag.

Mckenna Personalized Jewelry Binder — $99.00

This jewelry “binder” holds far more than you might think. It’s got designated spaces for rings, necklaces, and earrings plus a detachable “page” that doubles up on storage.

LANDICI Small Jewelry Box — $17.00

Don’t want to have to transfer your jewelry for travel? This case (which is smaller than you might think at 8.26″ long by 5.5″ wide by 1.7″ high) is equipped to hold a lot of jewelry. Keep it in your closet for everyday use, then snap it up and throw it in your suitcase any time a trip arises.

MISSLO Hanging Jewelry Organizer — $13.00

The great thing about this travel organizer for jewelry is that you can really see everything that’s in it. It hangs over the door for easy access, and has clear pockets so you know exactly which pair of earrings you’re unzipping for.

Vaultz Locking Jewelry Box Case — $24.00

Keep your valuables extra safe on vacay with this lockable case, which comes in three sizes and two different patterns.

DIMJ Makeup bag and Jewelry Bag — $19.00

Save space in your travel tote with this makeup-organizer-meets-jewelry-case hybrid. The top is meant for cosmetics (with a special spot for brushes), and the bottom features hangers for necklaces and holes for earrings. It also comes with a removable pouch, just in case you need even more storage.

Fangoo Earring Organizer Book — $10.00

If you, like me, can’t leave home for a weekend without at least a dozen different statement earrings at your disposal, this is the case for you. It holds 42 pairs at once, which means you’ll never be challenged with making the choice of which of your favorites have to stay home.

Decorebay Rosy Multi-Purpose Sunglasses and Jewelry Travel Case and Storage Box — $25.00

Aside from having plenty of space to store your earrings, rings, and bracelets (sadly, it doesn’t have a special spot for necklaces), this kit has a dedicated compartment for your sunglasses, too.

Matein Travel Jewelry Organizer — $18.00

If you need a lot (like, a lot) of storage, this is a great option. It has: six necklace holders, space for 18 pair of earrings, five different-sized clear compartments, a ring holder, and a mesh pocket for your watch (phew!).

Travel Jewelry Organizer Jewelry Box — $34.00

Your most delicate pieces will feel right at home in this adorable case, which offers hard shell protection and a dedicated spot for your sunglasses. It’s the perfect place for your studs, dainty necklaces, and stackable rings to stay so you won’t have to fear losing them in a sea of hotel sheets.
