Using Instagram Stories, Philipps dished about her personal difficulties with Whole30—namely giving up beloved margaritas, Mexican food (complete with chips and salsa), and sugary cinnamon gummy bears. But, largely thanks to an innovative healthy version of one of her favorite treats, she made it through the 30-day plan.
To make Philipps' nachos, use seasoned ground turkey, homemade guac, salsa, and lettuce on thinly sliced sweet potatoes.
To create Whole30-approved nachos, Philipps combined a handful of ingredients you might already have at home: seasoned ground turkey, homemade guac, salsa, and lettuce on thinly sliced sweet potatoes. And if you prefer a vegetarian or vegan protein option, crumble on some plan-approved tempeh instead: "I just ate those Whole30 nachos and I didn’t need the cheese; I didn’t even miss it," she said.
See? Everything can be made healthy. And even if you contend nothing beats the crunch of tortilla chips, you gotta admit that sweet potatoes come pretty darn close (not to mention the root veggie is fiber-packed, immune-system boosting, and blood-sugar stabilizing).
