Fitness instructors are the ultimate beauty testers because nothing complements a good sweat sesh like a steamy shower. So, when I met Cassey Ho, who was teaching her cult-fave POP Pilates class at a recent Active Collective event in New York City, I instantly noticed her seriously gleamy skin and had to know what she keeps in her gym—and makeup—bag.
The fitness instructor, who founded the online Pilates empire Blogilates and POP Pilates, has continued to build her empire with a cool 1.4 million followers on Instagram and a number one Youtube channel in the female fitness category. “I love how it smells like fresh pineapples and makes my face look like a pearl,” she says. “Peeling off the mask is one of the most satisfying things in the world.”
“I really like this coconut water cream for my moisturizer because it has electrolytes in it and it goes on so light,” she says. “It’s the ultimate lightweight moisturizer that nourishes my skin quickly. I love wearing it before or after a workout. It feels like water on my skin, and I really like that for my moisturizer.”
“It’s super lightweight and breathable so it doesn’t bother me when I work out. I put this on right after the coconut water cream,” she tells me. “I don’t wear real foundation to work out—I just want my skin to breathe. Then I’ll do a little eyebrows, and maybe lashes if I feel like it.”
“When I need that extra drama for my eyes, these are my fave,” she says. “I tried eyelash extensions for a little while and it just got really annoying, and so now I just use a mascara or I put on fake lashes.”
“This is a natural vegan cleanser and skin-care system that helps with pimples and acne. I use the cleanser to scrub everything away. In terms of overall skin care, I would say my number one beauty tip is that I stopped drinking dairy,” she tells me. “That really helped keep away inflammation from my face, and of course, I drink a lot of water. Every single day I drink a lot of water with lime or lemon inside. I also always take off my makeup at night with face wipes.”
