The One Thing You Should Buy From the Columbia X Opening Ceremony Collection

As your trusty internet shopper, this week initially felt like it might be a dud. Not in terms of items already existing on the internet and ripe for purchasing (there is always a stellar mix of leggings), but things were feeling scant in terms of new rollout…until I came across Opening Ceremony's first-ever collaboration with functional normcore star, Columbia.

The outerwear collection is 10 pieces and completely unisex. There are coats, hats, fleece, gloves—you know, the works. But as the OC association may have tipped you off, things skew to the pricier side. Practically speaking, though, since your closet can only house so many puff jackets before it combusts, right now could be time to invest in a versatile parka, which, in this case, actually works as four different jackets rolled into one.

With this collab, Columbia's classic Whirlibird Parka ($500) gets the chic and sleek Opening Ceremony treatment. The new take on the stalwart jacket includes the outer shell and a thinner, reversible blue and red liner jacket inside (in one of the most unexpected but spend-worthy color combinations of this season).

You can now find the jacket, and the whole collection, online and in Opening Ceremony stores. Since the winter staple has all of the functionality of a regular waterproof Omni-Tech parka, you can wear it on your next camping expedition or just from SoulCycle to your office.
