Glass Animals really knew what they were talking about when they sang "Heat waves been faking me out." The soupy, sticky weather that's making most of the country uncomfortably hot—including my home in Lake Placid, New York—has been, "faking us out" for weeks now, looking deceivingly summer-y outside our windows and air conditioning... until you actually get into it and realize...this is SAUNA weather, not summer weather.

It's particularly grueling at night, when I think I'm comfortable enough to sleep—only to wake up an hour later drenched in sweat. I'm not normally even a hot sleeper, but thank heavens for my Coop Home Goods Eden Pillow ($96) these past few weeks, which has been the only thing keeping me cool enough to get through the nights.

Why I love it

I have quite the pillow collection already from other esteemed sleepy-time brands like Purple, Casper, and Brooklinen. And while I've slept on my fair share of cooling pillows, The Eden takes airy to a whole different level, even when the temps are scorching.

That's because it's stuffed with an "air conditioning" filling combined of gel-infused memory foam and microfiber that's way more breathable than traditional memory foam. It's just as supportive and can actually be customized to meet your comfort preferences (more on that in a minute), only without the stuffy, too-hot feeling that regular memory foam pillows tends to radiate. The fill is breathable—so you'll stay cool—and hypoallergenic, so you've got one less thing to worry about when you get some shut eye.

And as I mentioned, The Eden is technically a customizable pillow. Just like the brand's original adjustable model, The Eden can be plumped or de-plumped to your liking, thanks to an extra .5-pounds of filling that comes with your pillow. Personally, I prefer my pillows with a bit of give—it's actually why I tend to avoid memory foam models at all. For me, The Eden is perfect as is. (Pro tip: Throw it in the dryer on cool/low for a few minutes to expand give that foam some oomph.) But if there ever comes a time when I prefer it to be more firm, I can just unzip it and stuff to my heart's desire.

Why 12,000 others love it, too

I'm not the only one who staying cool, calm, and collected with The Eden. Between 2,000+ happy Coop Home Goods customers and 10,000 Amazon shoppers, there's more than 12,000 others who are getting a good night's sleep, too. Here's what they have to say about this pillows chilling superpowers:

"This pillow is amazing, it’s so soft. At night it helps keep you cool, and you can totally readjust as needed. So if you like big firm pillows, you’re golden. If you like soft and not as firm, they gotcha covered. It doesn’t matter what kind is sleeper you are, either. I really like that they give you more fluff in case it’s not fluffy enough. (It comes really, really fluffy!)" — Elizabeth J., Coop Home Goods verified buyer.

"This pillow is nothing short of quality. Packaging was very professional and efficient, came vacuum sealed. Recommends to put in a dryer on low for 15 minutes and it literally quadrupled in size! Comes with extra fluff if you want it ultra poofy. Removing and adding foam is very easy. Suited for every kind of sleeper. Keeps cool, is ultra plush but has great support... So yes, buy it." — Timothy P., Amazon customer.

"The Eden is the BEST pillow I have ever owned. I'm a hot sleeper, & this pillow is very cool! I did have to remove some of the foam, but now it's perfect!" — Sharon B., Coop Home Goods verified buyer.

And that's only three of the thousands of praises customers have sung about this pillow. And the only downsides I've found is pretty consistent with what reviewers say, too. The pillow does have a slight smell—which I assume has to do with the gel-infusion. However, it subsides significantly after that initial roll through the dryer, and it's nothing unlike other gel pillows I've opened in the past.

Suffice to say that if the heat wave has been "faking you out" at night, too, The Eden pillow has got you covered. Buy a single Queen ($96) or King ($108), or double down with a 2-pack in Queen ($173) or King ($195).
