Dara Hartman knows a thing or two about looking stylish in the studio.

The superstar trainer of one of New York City’s buzziest studios, The DogPound, basically spends her days in the fitness world equivalent of a fashion show’s front row—after all, models like Romee Strijd and Jasmine Tookes are regulars.

The one look that Hartman is seeing everywhere? The crop top. Sure, drop-arm tanks and two-in-one tees may be hitting the racks this summer, but the ab-flaunter has shown some serious staying power.

“It’s just the perfect summer shirt,” Hartman says of the crop top’s continued popularity. “It’s not only great with high-waisted leggings and a sports bra for the gym, but also great to throw on over a bikini and easy to dress up with a flowing maxi skirt for a glam night out.”
