Why Demi Lovato Is More Accepting of Her Body Than Ever

Demi Lovato has spoken up before about recovering from an eating disorder—not to mention other mental health struggles (I mean, she's even offered free therapy on her tour). So it's no surprise that the actress-singer is a vocal body positive advocate.

"Learning to love my body the way it is is challenging but life-changing," she's written on her Instagram. "Giving up my eating disorder has been the most challenging journey of my life but I work every day towards solid recovery even if I mess up sometimes."

Last night, Lovato took to her Instagram to proudly flaunt what so many women hide: cellulite and not having a thigh gap. "The point is, I have cellulite just like the other 93 percent of women do," she writes. Looks like yet another inspiring woman who's on board the cellulite acceptance movement (much like Sleigh Bells' frontwoman Alexis Krauss).

"What you see on Instagram isn't always what it seems to be," Lovato continues. "Let's embrace our real selves. #iloveme." For a person who used to have a hard time finding self-confidence in her body, this is leaps and bounds in the right direction. Kudos to her.

Can anything really help cellulite, anyway? For more self-love inspo, this is how one woman's sexy selfie led her to launch a movement on body activism.
