Although it just opened in March, L.A. Juice has already amassed an impressive clientele that includes Rachel Zoe and the Cycle House team, who pop in for a glass-bottle of green juice—or even their juice horoscope. (Photo: L.A. Juice)

L.A. Juice, a new juice bar in West Hollywood, is heating up the Los Angeles cold-pressed scene by bottling unique ingredients that call to your palette. We're talking almond milk with cardamom and rose essence and dandelion greens with grapefruit and tarragon.

But should you meet founder Kiel Pollitt at the counter, the juice-apreneur might suggest you factor in another element when ordering a juice blend—your astrological sign.

At his gorgeous little shop, which opened in March and is on Melrose, across from Alexander McQueen, Pollitt's affinity for astrology is subtly hinted at with a small spot on on the menu chalkboard that displays which phase the moon is in.

"It's like a therapy message for the day," Pollitt says. "The moon changes sign every 48 hours. That said, every sign has its own energy. For example, if the moon is in Leo, people will be feeling more indulgent, proud, and confident."

Pollitt, who attended the Institute of Integrative Nutrition before opening L.A. Juice, first discovered astrology as a teenager. It became a huge hobby and he went on to write horoscopes for Pressed Juicery's Chalkboard Magazine, Metrosource, and The Daily Good.

And at the shop, he's more than happy to provide you with deeper readings on which juices he sees in your chart.

Aries: Aries is a fire sign, and it's ruled by Mars, the red planet. "We need to give them something with a zing because they’re fiery," Pollitt says. They need a little zest and pop." He recommends a red juice like beet, tangerine, and apple with some ginger.

Taurus: Taurus is an earth sign, and it's ruled by Venus. As a result, Taurus signs tend to like things that are very aesthetically appealing. "But they can be indulgent sometimes," Pollitt says. "They need something that's pretty, sumptuous, and sweet." Something that awakens sight, smell, and touch, like a chocolate almond milk.

Gemini: Gemini is the air sign, ruled by Mercury. "Geminis are quick and youthful," he says. "Astrologers often associate Geminis with teenage years." With that, Pollitt suggests a watermelon mint blend, or anything else that's "fun and upbeat."

Cancer: Cancer is a food sign, and it's ruled by the stomach. "Often Cancers are very emotional eaters," he says. "They likely want something really decadent." Pollitt recommends a green almond milk with kale, cucumber, and spinach, so that Cancers still get the healthy dose of veggies they need in combination with the grounding, comforting energy of almond milk.

Leo: Leo is a fire sign, and it's also the leader of the zodiac. "Leos are in the house of play and amusement," he says. "They're not good with dietary restrictions. They need something that's fun." On that note, he suggests a berry banana shake with bananas, strawberries, blueberries, almond milk, and coconut water.

Virgo: Virgo is the health sign of the zodiac, so it's the best sign for fat restricting. "Any cleanse, they can do it," Pollitt says. "They're all about purity." To complement that, he suggests going with the classic all green juice, AKA kale, spinach, romaine, parsley, and cucumber.

Libra: Libra is an air sign, and it's symbolized by the scale, reinforcing that they're all about balance. "That said, Libras are ruled by Venus, so they need it to be pretty and to taste good," he says. He recommends a greens blend with apple—healthy yet somewhat sweet.

Scorpio: Scorpio is a water sign, ruled by Mars, and they are very energetic, dynamic, and passionate," Pollitt says. "They're not aggressive, but they're assertive, so the color has to go 'pow.'" He suggests a carrot and greens juice, with carrot for energy and a color relating to the Mars sign.

Sagittarius: Sags are world travelers that thrive in far-flung destinations or anywhere they've got a suitcase in hand. "Sagittarius people need to try to do something exotic," Pollitt says. To him, that means combining something unexpected like cilantro with cucumber, pineapple, and lime.

Capricorn: Capricorn is an Earth sign, which means those born under it tend to be super hardworking. "But, Capricorns aren't necessarily the classic health-oriented people," he explains. "They'd do well with something classic, like carrot, apple, celery. Just a clean, straight-up juice."

Aquarius: Aquarius is an air sign, and they tend to be forward-thinking and innovators, Pollitt says. "They need juice to be a little quirky and different." He suggests something "on the next level," like dandelion, pear, cucumber, tarragon, MSM, and grapefruit, with an option to add herbs.

Pisces: "They are sensitive and intuitive," Pollitt says about the water sign. "Half tend to be really super healthy and a lot of Pisces are really bad with health." A good middle ground is something cool, damp, and calming, like almond milk with cardamom and rose essence.
