Every Father’s Day, my dad is not super forthcoming about what he wants me to get him as a gift. It’s always, “I’m happy with whatever you decide.” Or, “Don’t worry about it, your presence and a card is good enough.” And while that may be true, I still want to express my gratitude and gift him something thoughtful to make him smile. But with no real guidance to go off of, it’s hard to know where to start.

However, one thing I do know is that the more practical the gift, the better chance my dad will actually use it. And for that, tech gadgets like a Bluetooth speaker or a knife set for the kitchen is usually the perfect way to go. There's also these Dad-approved Lululemon ABC pants that are super popular because of their versatile construction and style. To make things a little more complicated, all dads have unique tastes, needs, and wants. Which is why we gathered Father's Day gift ideas from the Well+Good staff. These are presents we'll actually be giving our dads (just don't show them this page), so feel free to use this list as inspiration.

Best Father's Day gifts from W+G Editors

adidas golf sweatshirt
Adidas Club Quarter Zip Sweatshirt — $75.00

“Even though I don’t share my dad’s exact taste when it comes to clothes, we both really love athleisure looks. And this Adidas Club Quarter Zip Sweatshirt screams comfort and style. The polyester fabric is super stretchy and soft to the touch. At the same time, it’s cozy but still lightweight enough that you don’t have to worry about sweating in it on a cooler spring day. I also love this style because quarter-zip sweaters pretty much go with anything. For example, you can style this with a pair of slacks or keep it causal with some denim. This one comes in three colors including navy, white and black.” — Taylor Bell, Senior Commerce Writer

Solo stove bonfire
Solo Stove Bonfire — $240.00

Originally $400, now $240

“When it comes to my dad, I mostly just want to spend time with him. I think the Solo Stove, that offers smokeless bonfires, is a cool shiny dad gift but it also necessitates using it which means quality time sitting around a fire (without smoke) and telling stories. This is a big gift, maybe for a bigger year, so if it was a more low key year I would go for a personalized tool bag to emphasize that I care about him and value the effort that he puts in.” — Han Schneider, Health Writer

Ninja TWISTi HIGH-SPEED Blender DUO
Ninja TWISTi High-Speed Blender Duo — $120.00

Originally $140, now $120

“My dad has been asking me for a blender for what seems like forever, so I got him Ninja’s newest model, which features proprietary Hybrid-Edge blades that break down food quicker than other blenders, and gives you a much smoother result. Plus, it comes with two smaller pitcher for single (or smaller) servings, which are perfect for smoothies on the go. I’m excited to see what he does with it! (It’s super versatile—I’ve been testing it for a couple weeks, and love all the smoothies, soups, and sauces I’ve been able to swirl up!)” — Gina Vaynshteyn, Senior Commerce Editor

Asics GEL-KAYANO 28 AWL
Asics Gel-Kayano 28 AWL — $160.00

“My dad has been a runner for as long as I can remember and goes through sneakers like underwear. My sister and I are going in on a pair of Asics for Father’s Day since they’re super supportive on fallen arches. They’re also gentle on hard surfaces (aka the pavement all around suburban New Jersey, which I know my dad’s joints will appreciate).” — Francesca Krempa, Associate Commerce Editor

SPARK GRILL ESSENTIALS PACKAGE
Spark Grills Essentials Package — $1,099.00

“This charcoal grill heats up in 10 minutes. (You heard me! I said 10 minutes!) That means you can give dad the gift of effortless, deliciously grilled food—minus the one-hour lead time. Charcoal pizzas, burgers, and veggies await.” — Kells McPhillips, Freelance Writer

Lululemon Command the Day Large Duffle Bag 37L
Lululemon Lululemon Command the Day Large Duffle Bag 37L — $158.00

“If you ever need a gym bag that can do it all, it’s the Lululemon Command the Day Large Duffle Bag 37L. It’s big enough to carry both your workout gear and office essentials without being clunky. There are several different pockets and even a separate compartment for your sneakers and laptop. Additionally, the material is water-repellent, so you don’t have to worry about excess sweat ruining your valuables. And being that my dad spends most of his mornings at the gym, this extra large duffle allows him to pack everything he needs for the office without having to make an extra trip home. “— Bell

tommy john Second Skin Sleep Pant
Tommy John Second Skin Sleep Pant — $68.00

“Dads SAY they don’t care about luxe pajamas, but they secretly all want a pair. These are super soft (they’re made of a micro modal fabric that never pills) and give you really nice stretch. Plus, they have pockets. (Rule #1: Never give a dad a clothing gift that doesn’t have pockets.)” — Vaynshteyn
