It's not often that we—a group of women with varying skin types—can universally agree on a product that fits all of our needs. Actually, this is literally the only time it's every happened (and we test a lot of products around these parts). When one editor paid mentioned about just how much she loved the cleanser to the rest of the team, we all decided we needed to see what the hype was about. Now, the first portion of many of our team meetings is dedicated to singing its praises. Seriously.
So what makes it so great? The cleanser is made with soy proteins, which are rich in amino acids to help maintain skin elasticity and suppleness, cucumber extracts to soothe, and rosewater, which is known for its calming properties. This combo makes it a win for all skin types; plus, it legitimately feels like a spa treatment in a bottle.
I've been using the cleanser for the past nine months, and it's become my favorite step in my skin-care routine. Despite being told by dermatologists that cleanser is the one product you can definitely save your money on, my dry skin and I are big believers that this product is well worth its $38 price tag. It takes off my makeup while also giving my skin a gentle cleanse (with just the right amount of lather), and the formulation is great for removing makeup so you really only need a single step in your cleansing routine. Despite the fact that the cleanser isn't exactly inexpensive, a little bit goes a long way—I've only gone through two bottles in six months, despite using it twice a day.
Our senior food and health editor, Jessie Van Amburg, who's got sensitive, acne prone skin, is also a massive fan of the stuff. "It makes washing your face feel like a treat," she says. "It smells exactly like the cucumber water that’s served at fancy spas before getting a massage or a facial, and it feels great on my skin, which is normally very finicky and prone to irritation."
The only problem, now that we all love it so much? We're constantly fighting over who gets to take a bottle home from the office.
