Taylor Swift‘s got a blank space right now—and that’s just the way she likes it.
While the pop megastar is almost always on the road performing for sold-out crowds, Tay’s most recent task was a little less high-profile: being maid of honor in her best friend’s wedding.
Of course, it wasn’t a totally low-key gig. There was, of course, a handful of paparazzi along for the ride, despite the wedding being in Reading, PA. And in lieu of bringing boyfriend Calvin Harris, Swift’s “date” was Vogue reporter Jason Gay, who tagged along to document the day for Swift’s May Vogue cover story.
In the story, Swift talks about everything from growing up on a Christmas tree farm (yes, really) to whether or not she knows how to change a tire (nope). And when she’s not setting her sights on big dreams and lofty goals (“I got it in my head that I couldn’t do a split, and I was really upset about it,” she says. “And so I stretched every single day for a year until I could do a split. Somehow I feel better knowing that I can.”), Swift says she’s content to just chill for a while.
When asked what she’s going to do for the rest of her life (no pressure), Swift tells Vogue, “I have no idea.” She says she’ll always be writing music, but that right now, the goal is to not be so go-go-go. “Honestly, I never relax, and I’m excited about being able to relax for the first time in 10 years.”
So consider this your Swift stamp of approval to go ahead and shake it off, and then feel free to step back (with your cats) and take a break for a bit.
