Summertime is to blame for a host of beauty casualties. (Anyone else still rehabbing chlorine-tattered tresses and sunburned skin?) But when it comes to those melted lipsticks hiding at the bottom of your overstuffed beach bags and purses, don't declare RIP just yet.

According to Daily Mail, your precious tube of lip color doesn't need to meet the same cruel "I'm melllttting" fate as the Wicked Witch of the West. Instead, you can resurrect it to its former tinting glory with one oh-so-simple, beauty-blogger-sanctioned tip. Just take the remnants of what was once your go-to date-night or daytime hue and pop it into the freezer for a quick Frankenstein-style reconstruction.

Once the waxy material has hardened a bit, it should be malleable enough for you to shape it back into something close to its original form. If it is too far gone though (*sigh*), consider scooping the contents of the lipstick container into a small bowl to mix it with a colorless lip moisturizer (like, say, coconut oil). This way, you'll end up with a tinted lip balm that isn't quite a lipstick, but will definitely let you rep your signature shade through the colder months.

Perhaps this intel will finally set you up polish off an entire lip product before losing it? Hey, a girl can dream.

These five red natural lipsticks perform (seriously).  Plus, here's how Jennifer Aniston transforms any tube into a kiss-proof stain
