The Wear-Everywhere Cocoon Sweater Already Sold Out 5 Times Since Its Launch—But It’s Back

Tell me you're a millennial couch potato who watches way too many rom-coms without telling me you're a millennial couch potato who watches way too many rom-coms. I'll go first: Sometimes I dream that if I stare hard enough at the TV while watching a Nancy Meyers' movie, I'll be able to transplant myself into the television. I'll be sitting on a cream-colored Restoration Hardware Cloud Couch (that I keep from ever showing dirt or stains), swathed in a soft-as-a-dream grey Jenni Kayne cocoon cardigan ($345) and some shearling taupe mules, and finding love despite impossible hi-jinx that seem to unfold over the course of the week.

While I'm several years away from saving up enough pennies to invest in that couch and several more from being able to find my knack for teleportation, I do find myself presently describing my style in the cooler months as cozy sweaters and chunky knits-friendly. So, too, do thousands of other shoppers: The Jenni Kayne cocoon cardigan that I've been dreaming about sold out five times within 18 months of launch.

Admittedly, the sweater is an investment, but it's timeless and made to last year after year. Plus, it's pretty easy to find an option that goes with your vibe since there are tons of different colors and materials—think: wool blends, cashmere, cotton—to choose from (FWIW: I'd go all-in on the cable-knit rendition). However, if this sweater isn't in the budget, don't fret: There are other options that can help you get the look. Keep scrolling for all of them in one place.

Jenni Kayne Cotton Cocoon Cardigan — $345.00

The classic, best-selling cocoon cardigan has ribbed detailing and is made from an organic recycled blend of cotton and polyamide. With a slightly oversized fit, it gets more comfy as you wear it—and to increase this multi-wear-before-wash vibe, it’s dry clean only.

Jenni Kayne Cable Cocoon Cardigan — $395.00

This cable-knit rendition on the cocoon sweater breathes new life into the classic. It’s made with a wool blend and comes in four neutrals that are really adaptable to leggings or jeans or shorts (if you’re in a warmer climate). Most of all, this sweater is one of those unique ones that never makes you too hot, so you can wear it throughout transitional seasons, like the ones we’re about to enter when days can skew hot or cold on a whim.

Quince Mongolian Cashmere Boyfriend Cardigan Sweater — $120.00

Somehow Quince nails affordable luxury, and this cashmere cardigan in cream checks the boxes on comfortability and cost.

Alex Mill Romy Long Cardigan — $145.00

This Alex Mills long cardigan scratches that super-cozy, big-button vibe, but comes in more vibrant colors if you instead want to imagine yourself in a Wes Anderson flick.

Naadam Cashmere Boyfriend Cardigan — $195.00

Look, I’m not telling you to pair this cashmere cardigan with a carbon-copy-colored bra and leggings, but I’m also not *not* telling you to. Naadam makes quality cashmere prices for less because the brand cuts out the middle man.

Good American Chunky Oversize Cardigan — $139.00

This chunky, oversize cardigan has infinite possibilities for fall and beyond. The oversized pockets on the front help to make it feel really relaxed and wearable (read: perfect for stashing snacks).
