No, the serious Union Square studio founded by Sharon Gannon and David Life is not going the naked yoga route. But its new teachers are. At least temporarily, in front of the camera, on this brand spanking new postcard, which promotes the PETA cause.

In the past, Hollywood and reality TV personalities like Pamela Anderson, Bethenny Frankel, and Khloe Kardashian have appeared as spokesmodels for PETA's "We'd rather go NAKED than wear fur" campaign. Now yoga teachers like Lisa Dawn Angerame and Nan Herbert, pictured, join the celeb-focused media campaign—more evidence that yoga is a serious popular culture fixture.

“Yoga has entered the mainstream. Though we’re just at the very, very beginning of it,” predicts Ava Taylor, the founder of YAMA, the first talent agency for yogis. If we're lucky, actual yoga teachers (and other do-gooders) will continue to replace talentless reality stars in campaigns like this one.

It helps that Jivamukti's participation stems from real conviction and personal philosophy—and not the opportunism to bare all for a good cause. "The fork can be a powerful weapon of mass destruction or a tool to create peace on earth," reads a quote from Jivamukti's Gannon, a long-time vegan, on the back of the card, which doubles as a pass to free class (first time students only).

Our only question and quibble is this—where are Jivamukti's famous founders in this family portrait? Sharon and David, since when have you been camera-shy?
