The in-Flight Skin-Care Routine Celebrity Facialist Joanna Vargas Swears By

Dry cabin air doesn't stand a chance.
Anyone who's spent time in a plane flying at a cruising altitude of 30,000 feet knows the cabin conditions can suck every bit of moisture right out of your skin. But there is a way to look just as fresh and glowy when you land as you did when you boarded.

As a regular traveler, celebrity facialist Joanna Vargas—who helps perfect the skin of celebs like Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, and Naomi Watts—has a specific on-board skin-care routine to ensure the recycled, in-flight air and cabin pressure doesn't even stand a chance against her complexion. And you can totally copy it.

"When I get on the plane, I have my serums on my face, my Daily Hydrating Cream, and then I take my Rejuvenating Serum, my Eye Cream, and usually two different sheet masks." —Joanna Vargas

"When I get on the plane, I have my serums on my face, my Daily Hydrating Cream, and then I take my Rejuvenating Serum, my Eye Cream, and usually two different sheet masks," Vargas told The Cut. "I usually bring some rose water and I bring face wipes for mid-flight again. When I wake up from sleeping, I like to wash my face with a face wipe and then I do the whole thing all over again."

And upon landing, the skin guru says her face looks good as new. So sure, if you cop the hydrating regimen, your neighbor might think you look a little silly for wearing a sheet mask during a flight, but hey—once they see how refreshed your skin looks upon landing, they might start the habit too.
