Chunky knit blankets are here to make your winter much cozier
All the Instagram inspiration you need to stay ultra-warm with one of the biggest trends in blankets this year, from Lauren Bushnell to Lauren Conrad.

Last year, Well+Good called that 2017 would be the year of staying in and boy were we right. Exhibit A: cozy, hygge-approved Instagram feeds, which have been filled with soft sheepskin rugs, cozy activewear, and ridiculously fluffy-looking, chunky throws.
Softer athleisure may not come as a shock—a girl cannot live on polyester blends alone—but the ubiquity of those giant knit blankets was a bit more interesting. Crafted with thick, unspun wool, the natural state of the blankets offers a look that’s both traditional and easy-on-the-eyes. From Lauren Bushnell’s post-Bachelor split apartment to Lauren Conrad’s nursery (maybe the Laurens of the world are in cahoots?), the winter-friendly weave has been everywhere. Seriously, I challenge you to find a cozier looking blanket.
“These days, we can’t get enough of the luxe, chunky knit throw. Style it on a chair or at the end of the bed—it adds a bit of drama to any space,” says Carly Nance Citizenry co-founder. “With its super soft texture and extra chunky weave, it’s the perfect layering piece for your home. Each [Nublado Throw, which is also pictured above] is handcrafted in Peru and takes almost a day to knit.”
To help you find your perfect chunky throw inspiration, we rounded up some of the prettiest big knits on Instagram for your viewing (and potentially purchasing) pleasure.
