While The Telegraph previously predicted that the royal couple would go with a banana cake, Kensington Palace announced on its official Twitter page that the couple's cake will be a "lemon elderflower cake that will incorporate the bright [flavors] of spring. It will be covered with buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers."
Okay, so the buttercream doesn't exactly scream "good for you," but the lemon and elderflower do serve up some benefits. (Elderflower is sometimes used to boost immunity, and both ingredients can benefit digestion, which is exactly what you need at a food- and booze-heavy wedding, right?)

And just in case if you're wondering if the starring ingredients will be the real thing or just flavorings, Violet Bakery—the lucky London locale making the royal dessert—reportedly only uses organic, seasonal ingredients. So you can count on it being made with real lemon and elderflower, and topped with real, gorgeous flowers.
Before dessert, the newlyweds plan on serving up mini-bowls (AKA: bite-sized eats perfect for mingling) via food trucks. And since Markle personally tasted each menu item—you can bet there won't be any rubber-y wedding chicken in sight.
