Doing laundry when you live in a tiny space is kind of the worst. When you don’t have a washing machine in your apartment, you’re left venturing to the creepy communal laundry room in the basement, hauling your heavy bag down the street to the laundromat, or—my personal fave—getting so desperate that you decide to hand wash a load in your bathtub. You’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do, okay? But laundry doesn’t have to be a chore. You just need a mini washing machine to make your life easier.

Mini washing machines have been selling like hot cakes lately—mostly because no one wants to leave their apartments right now. Not even for laundry. If you’re on your last pair of underwear and need a solution, a mini washing machine will become your new best friend. The DjfLight Portable Mini Washing Machine ($130) seems to be everyone’s washer of choice. When you expand it, you simply fill it with water, set a timer, and let it do its thing. Once your clothes are freshly washed, you can fold it up and stick it in the closet. Or anywhere, really: It’s only 3.6 inches thick.

If you have more space available, there are also some other options that aren’t foldable but are still small and compact. The Kuppet Compact Twin Tub Portable Mini Washing Machine ($146) fits a lot more laundry. It’s also more powerful and has a built-in drain pump that allows you to drain water away instead of pouring it out at the end. It also has a spin cycle that gets your clothes nearly dry. While there are mini dryers available, too, save your money and hang up whatever you can around your apartment. Or grab a foldable drying rack.

Using a mini washing machine isn’t quite as good as doing your laundry with the full-size equipment, but your clothes still wind up fresh and clean. Plus, it keep you cozied up in your apartment where you belong.

These ultra-clean laundry detergents are perfect for people with sensitive skin. Then put off laundry one more week with these $7 “dry shampoo” for clothes. Because yes, that’s a (super cool) thing that exists.
