Breaking: These Are the Peloton Tread Instructors Who Will Make You Sweat on a Tricked-Out Treadmill

Peloton Tread instructors are announced

As Peloton builds on its core audience of at-home cycling super fans with new off-the-bike classes (thanks to the new $4,000 Peloton Tread treadmill launching this fall), one question has remained: Who will be the instructors for these new full-body workouts in the comfort of your own Zen den?

The answer, btw, is a big freaking deal because Peloton has just 12 instructors…total. The competition for these spots—and talent curation—is real, and rightfully so. Each one plays to a live audience daily (plus archived classes you can stream anytime), reaching a phenomenal audience of nearly one million, a number around which super passionate Facebook groups are born and Home Rider Invasions are inspired.

So, who’s been tapped to bring Tread to the sweaty masses? Three new faces—Andy Speer, Olivia Amato, and Matty Maggiacomo—have joined Master Tread instructor Rebecca Kennedy and Peloton veteran Robin Arzon as the inaugural teachers who will not only lead runners through high-vibe sweat sessions but also provide a major dose of motivation along the way. In the coming months, Chase Tucker, Selena Samuela, and Oliver Lee will also join the teaching squad, a Peloton rep tells me.

“We seek the best instructors who can not only connect with a studio filled with people right in front of them, but who can also motivate, inspire, and challenge our members participating from their homes all over the country.” —John Foley, Peloton co-founder and CEO

“We are so thrilled that Matty, Andy, and Olivia have joined the Peloton Tread team and the larger Peloton family,” John Foley, Peloton co-founder and CEO, tells me. “We seek the best instructors who can not only connect with a studio filled with people right in front of them, but who can also motivate, inspire, and challenge our members participating from their homes all over the country.”

Want to get to know the Tread instructors before they make you sweat? Here are the faces you’ll soon be seeing a whole bunch.

Andy Speer

Former competitive gymnast and pole vaulter Andy Speer saw the benefits of strength and conditioning while training during college. He used exercise to change his body and mind and gain an increased sense of confidence. Prior to joining Peloton, Speer was a personal trainer at Equinox, opened Soho Strength Lab, and created Performix House, an exclusive training facility. When he’s not teaching at Tread, you might find Speer doing another Peloton-approved activity: bike riding.
