Exclusive: SLT and Brooklyn Bodyburn Are Merging—Here’s What It Means for Your Megaformer Workouts
So what does that mean for devout fans of both boutique studios?
"Our growth plan involves a combination of opening brand-new studios and strategic acquisitions of Megaformer studios in the most attractive territories."
Over the next three months, Brooklyn Bodyburn locations will be switched over to SLT signage and branding. But its founder Tracy Carlinksy will stay on as lead trainer for SLT—and her instructors will be absorbed as well. Teachers from each studio will collaborate to create revised classes that reflect the best of both brands. (Bonus: For now, prices at the Brooklyn studios will not be raised to match SLT's $40 Manhattan premium.)
The merger is part of SLT's bigger expansion picture, says its founder Amanda Freedman. "Our growth plan involves a combination of opening brand-new studios and strategic acquisitions of Megaformer studios in the most attractive territories," she explains. "And Brooklyn is filled with young, active, fitness-minded people."
So much for that boutique fitness bubble bursting, right?
