My pre-COVID fashion choices seem like they belong in a different century—rigid jeans that took sweat and a prayer to put on, strappy heels that hurt my feet, and low-cut dresses that required me to use literal kinesiology tape as a bra (imagine ripping that off and try not to wince). Now, the only things that I’ll allow to touch my body include soft sweaters, softer sweatpants, and the softest socks around.
First of all, who wants to wear uncomfortable clothing when your desk is now your couch? Second, soft clothes are comforting, and I think we could all use as much comfort as we can get to make it through the rest of 2020. So while I would love nothing more than to go into cryogenic sleep until the end of the year, as that seems like an unlikely option, I will instead take refuge from the world in the gentle embrace of these soft sweaters. I’m like one of Harlowe’s baby monkeys, clinging to soft fabric as a surrogate for actual touch and support. Cozy up in one of these picks.
I may or may not have fallen asleep in it after typing out some “deep” (Old Fashioned-fueled) late-night thoughts in my Notes app. The next morning I went to gaze upon my creative genius, but the only new note was this list: hot knife, love ridden, sleep to dream, shadow boxer, paper bag, never is a promise, werewolf. I was concerned before I realized that it was a list of Fiona Apple songs, not me reverting back to my Evanescence-loving, Hot Topic-wearing, Plath-reading emo phase. TLDR: This sweater is super comfy.

I’ve decided that my new aesthetic is cottagecore but with cleavage, which loosely translates to this sweater worn over Anne Of Green Gables-inspired lingerie, while making my own lip stain out of dried berries using a mortar and pestle.
