Anyone else's mom drop serious wisdom like: "It's not what you say it's how you say it?" when you were a kid? As it happens, the same thinking could be true for your skin care. While the formula does matter (same as your words, TBH), according to Miami-based facialist Tammy Fender, the manner with which you slather on those creams and serums counts for quite a lot too.

Known for her stellar organic products—for example best-selling Intensive Repair Balm—the aesthetician has also picked up a slew of tips, tricks, and hacks for a glowy, radiant complexion.

The best way to increase cellular turnover is to manually stimulate your circulation through a little bit of facial massage or exercise.

"You know how you can look at someone's face and tell they're in love because they're glowing? It's just increased circulation at the skin's surface," says Fender, "which brings increased oxygen levels to the cells." Skin is left renewed, revitalized, and re-energized after a circulation-boosting or oxygen-increasing facial treatment.

The thing is, though, it's not like you need a slew of devices, an appointment with a facialist, or even some extra cash to invest in radiance: Fender's top trick is 100 percent free. "The best way to increase cellular turnover is to manually stimulate your circulation through a little bit of facial massage or exercise," she says.

Although jade rollers are serious Insta candy, your fingertips will do your complexion equal justice. Fender starts a facial massage from the center out, using sweeping, circular strokes. "I'll massage upward and outward, drawing circles across both cheeks, and then come up around the eye area," she says. "From there, I lift up across the forehead, almost feathering them out. And then I'll do the same thing on the neck. It's always just about that up-and-out, lifting motion."

Massage for a few minutes each day—ensure your hands are clean and your nails are trimmed first—and you'll look like positively ethereal, almost like you're in love. "You'll see results almost instantly," says Fender. And is there anything better than the look of love for absolutely no cost? I think not.

Check out some other ways to get a radiant complexion, whether it be through the "skin-glazing" technique or using this cool new eyeshadow as a highlighter instead.
