The hot yoga scene in Brooklyn is, well, heating up.

Bikram Yoga Park Slope, the quiet—yet sweaty—community, with studios on Flatbush Avenue, and in the South Slope on Fifth Avenue, is debuting a third Brooklyn studio in Lefferts Gardens next month.

The new Bikram Yoga Lefferts will feature a new cork-floor studio (buh-bye aroma-trapping carpet) that will be heated to the requisite 105 degrees and outfitted with (soon-to-be foggy) mirrors. There are plans for a boutique area for tiny hot-yoga clothes, and possibly a gallery space that will be used to showcase local artists, says co-founder Jessica Senecal, who owns the studios with husband Roodolph "Roody" Senecal. Its home, over a beer store, should not give you any ideas.

The couple opened its first Flatbush Avenue location in 2003, and almost lost it this past year due to skyrocketing real estate prices. So it's a turn of events that the couple now finds themselves running three studios. "We were looking for a new home for our amazing community, when we thought it was going to be necessary," explains Jessica. And then there were three.

And this summer, while many take their yoga outdoors, under the beating sun, the Senecals are inspiring yogis to sweat inside with them all over Brooklyn. They're partnering with the borough's other Bikram studios in Bay Ridge and Brooklyn Heights for an all-access Brooklyn pass. "It's something we've always wanted to do, and it both connects and expands our community," she says.

The $350 unlimited yoga pass gets you into all five Bikram Yoga studios in Brooklyn, now through Labor Day. So if you get one, this could also be the summer you need some extra body wash for your shower, too. —Melisse Gelula
