Like last year and the year before, the Ugg Tasman claimed the shoe racks of literally everyone. This year was no different with the celeb-beloved slip-on (seen on Gigi Hadid and Elsa Hosk) flying off the shelves quicker than we could say "Ugg!" Not to be the bearer of bad news, but the Tasmans have sold out again with no signs of a restock in sight. If you've missed your chance at securing this year's "it" shoe, don't fret. We found a look-a-like that costs a fraction of the price.
Introducing, Madewell's Quilted Jacqueline Slipper ($25). Featuring a clog-like and slip-on style, the Jacquelines mimic the look and feel of the Tasman mule. The inner shoe is lined with shearling, giving the slipper its warmth and pillow-y feel (so comfy it feels like you're walking on clouds). The exterior, made of recycled nylon, is quilted to evenly distribute warmth, so no part of your feet goes uncovered.
If you look to the reviews, you'll find happy customers. One wrote: "Bit the bullet and bought these, since my feet are always cold. No regrets, my feet are now warm and toasty while I have these on. I also like that they're pretty sturdy, so I can use them for a quick trip outside the house. Like on the inevitable dash to take the recycling out in a cold winter morning. I went one size up so I can wear them with socks and because my usual size felt small."
While slippers aren't typically thought of as winterwear, another Madewell shopper said it held up in colder seasons. "What I really love about these slippers is that they don't stretch out," says one customer. "I have been searching for slippers that don't end up falling off my feet, especially when climbing [the] stairs. They are cute comfortable and perfect for Wisconsin winters."
