This Yoga Flow for Body Positivity Is All About Trust and Honor

Yoga for body positivity is meant to honor every part of it from head to toe. BK Yoga Club founders Alicia Ferguson and Paris Alexandra hope to engender a certain trust in your body with their newest flow for Well+Good's YouTube show Good Moves

"Today we are focusing on really activating the wisdom within," says Alexandra. "I was recently at a conference called the 'Embodied Social Justice Conference,' and one of the renowned speakers, Reverend angel, talked about trusting the wisdom of your own body. I was deeply inspired by it, so we're going to take that message and really sit with what it means to trust the wisdom of our bodies."

The half-hour flow is gentle yet effective in wringing out not just your limbs but also your self-doubt, with a little help from the ASMR-like whispers of Alexandra. "You can repeat this affirmation to yourself or out loud: 'I am honoring all of who I am and trusting all of who I am, in the present'," she says.

This is exactly the type of positive self-talk needed to push toward right now, rather than focusing what life should be like right now or obsessing over the future body I'd like to create. As we slowly emerge from a year unlike any other, it's important to appreciate this very minute. Our bodies have been through it this year, and we are still standing. That is worthy of respect and love! Press play to get your own dose of affirmative movement designed to shift your mentality with a yoga flow for body positivity.
