Ah, Baywatch—the classic lifeguard drama that was recently remade into a modern-day comedy. In the newer version, you'll get to see Zac Efron running (shirtless) in slow-mo along the beach (yes, your dreams have been answered).

If you've seen it (or witnessed any of the promos), there's no doubt that Efron has been up to something to get from his High School Musical days to full-on 24-pack, fitspo status.

According to his Instagram and an interview with Men's Fitness, the heartthrob's secret was about more than just working out five or six days a week—the key was a low-sugar diet full of organic, whole foods.

“After a while your body stops craving junk food and you look forward to these meals,” says Efron of his strict eating plan, which is also low in carbs. “There’s this trigger that happens after two or three weeks of dieting and eating healthy food, where your body switches its primary energy source from burning mainly carbohydrates to burning fat."

He goes on to say that his regimented diet actually leads him to want superfoods over, say, ice cream—which, you know, doesn't sound like an easy feat.

“When it switches over, all your cravings change," Efron explains. "You go, ‘Holy cow, I want kale and vinaigrette shredded with beets and a little bit of sweet potato!’” Hey Zac—I'll have some with you.
