When it comes to skin care, there are some amazing products that only cost $10 and others that cost nearly $200—which makes it challenging to figure out when you should save and when you should splurge. An analysis of over 600,000 skin-care reviews by expert-led beauty content platform Skincare Hero found that while products like sunscreen and cleansers don't get much better with cost, the same can't be said for exfoliants.

The platform looked at 10 fan-favorite exfoliants like The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA ($8) and the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel ($17 to $150) and found that the one with the best overall rating was the Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum ($90 to $134). Skincare Hero looked at 677,165 product reviews from Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Ulta to "provide consumers with evidence on which skin-care products are really worth their hard-earned money."

This Drunk Elephant serum is so beloved because it does its job without leaving your skin stripped and irritated. "This serum contains a cocktail of alpha-hydroxy acids to effectively exfoliate without overly drying out the skin," board-certified dermatologist Joshua Zeichner, MD, previously told Well+Good.

The star ingredient is Drunk Elephants trademarked T.L.C. Framboos AHA blend. It resurfaces and exfoliates skin for a smoother, more even-looking complexion. It also contains the BHA salicylic acid, which loosens sebum to unclog pores while soothing skin. Plus, it contains antioxidant-rich raspberry fruit extract, which rehydrates and soothes skin.

One Sephora reviewer dubbed this serum a miracle product. "I've struggled with my skin/acne since I was about 12 (I'm almost 30). I've tried a million different products but never really found anything that worked or wowed me," they wrote. "I've been using this serum for not even two weeks and the results have floored me to tears. My texture is already completely gone, my acne scars are fading and no new breakouts! My skin is so soft to boot. It's a pricy product but worth every single penny. I can't recommend this serum enough."

Another at Ulta agrees, stating that the serum is an overnight miracle. "I do not use this product often, but I use it whenever I have stubborn acne," they wrote. "I kid you not, whatever acne is present will be gone in the morning. I've used it several nights in a row before, and each morning my skin was smoother and clearer. I normally get the small size that comes in the kits but decided to splurge on the big bottle. It's a must-have."
